Sprigitato evolution meeting.

The boss made the correct decision. You can have a two legged pokemon; the fan designs for Quaxly's evolution do an excellent job of that, imitating Greninja- and Sceptile-esque styles, but they really put a mask and stockings on a cat for no good reason.

The mask goes with its name. Maquerada is supposedly spanish for masquerade. Masquerade parties are when the party-goers wear masks, hiding their identities. The mask also kinda makes Meowscarada (it took me way too long to spell that correctly) look the magician part.

I understand the masquerade pun, I'm saying that the pokemon doesn't look very magician-like as a whole, and the leg coloration is weird and unrelated. They could have made it look more like a cat with magician traits or more like a magician with cat traits, but they made it look like a template with a mask, a couple cat bits and a name.

I wouldn’t want a straight up top hat or cape (usually how magician are depicted). Granted, it could retain its wand, but that’s kinda it. I feel that they were trying to make it a magician without using cliche aspects of a magician.

Like a mask?

Most magicians are depicted with a top hat and cape, only occasionally wearing a mask. Masks are usually worn by “phantom thieves and stuff.”

If magicians don't wear masks then the mask meowscarda wears doesn't contribute to its magician aspect, as you had previously claimed.

A phantom thief often uses tricks similar to those of magician.

its really not that bad, the only reason people hate humanoid pokemon is mainly because of incineroar popping out of nowhere, with its evolution being completely out of nowhere, with no forshadowing that its gonna happen compared to sprigatito, with it and its 2nd evolution having a mask shape on there forehead foreshadowing the final evolution.

Sprigatito’s transition was smooth. A bunch of other bipedal starters are already humanoid to an extent. INCINEROAR WAS JUST PLAIN BUTCHERING OF THE LITTEN LINE.

Both of Quaxly's evolutions pretty much ignore the Elvis look that he had going. And the problem I have with Meowscarda isn't the transition, it's the stockings.
