The only other FC I played was Primal, and I can see exactly why everyone hated it after playing 5. Guns and vehicles make the enemies a lot more powerful, and stealth is actually a useful tool.
In Primal, I could literally just walk into an outpost and lure all the enemies outside and pick them off one by one while they chased me in a circle. It was so boring. But in FC5, you actually need to be careful about enemies finding where you are.
Also when you cleared an outpost in Primal, your people were just like "thanks, we live here now."
But when you clear an outpost in 5, people are like "I have such fond memories of this place. Thanks for restoring hope and giving us a fighting chance."
It actually has depth and emotion. What you're doing feels meaningful.
