fallout universe but then there would be radioactive mutations to everything including humans so still a maybe on furries in a post-apocalyptic world assuming you mean a "wipeout" via nuclear weapons or nuclear catastrophe.

3. Anthropomorphology

This theory is similar to the nanite theory but has a more organic approach to it the idea is that instead of repairing old chromosomes we kill off the dying chromosomes and replace them with new healthy ones(now this is why I said this is "more" organic than the nanite theory because this theory also involves Nano bots however it isn't just nanobots sustaining you here) the old chromosomes will be killed by the nanobots and replaced with fresh mature chromosomes now the main reason why I associate this theory with anthropomorphology is because the new chromosomes don't have to be human chromosomes they also don't have to have the same x and y chromosome axis as before changing these can result in two things: 1. your human chromosomes can be mixed with a specific animals chromosomes to turn you into an anthropomorph: a humanoid with animals features(The furries will love this KEKW) and 2. being able to alter the x and y axis of your chromosomes means you can basically change your gender on a whim by reducing or increasing the amount of either your x or y chromosomes(although male to female will be harder purely because of the insane x and y difference between the two sexes) now at this point you are probably wondering "but how does this help you live forever" don't worry it's almost the same as the nanite theorem: the new chromosomes will reverse your age back to your age of maturity(which is around 17-21 as I previously discussed) this theory is way more exciting than the nanite theory though as it means you can change your body and sex whenever you want while also staying young forever as long as you change your body every 100 years.

protogens are the more likey furry species to become real, they are mostly comprised of AI and could be useful. (yes i don't keep up on official fandom lore about these things)

yeah, I thought of that. and their bio/mech ratio is 40/60, so that means easier to create since all that is really needed is a nervous system and a digestive system(stomach, pisser, pooper) but, unique to their species is the nanites(what their visor is made of) and that has like separate thing and is unrealistic for our current time. because we don't have anything that can replicate a brain and move mechanical objects the way a brain does.

i actually have an writing project that I am working on with an friend that actually includes protogens, its about some space-faring crew trying to deliver cargo throughout an new system humanity has settled in, the non-canonical lore for protogens my friended added in really gives some interesting added details.

really the premise of protogens in the story is that they are some of the supporting units that help build infrastructure yet also have lives of their own....
