Idk but I'll tell you how I do it

You might be skipping a step

Step one: make a template (duh)

Step two: move your text boxes around and mess with their settings until you have them the way you want them

Step three: there should be a button down by the generate image button that says "save text box settings" click that and you should be good

If it still doesn't work idk what to tell you

The text box settings only save for one template at a time, maybe that's your problem?
