As I told someone else: We all are. All the time. We're all still way more likely to get killed by a car, or COVID, or a mass shooter, or a shark attack, than to be nuked by a Tsar Bomba.

Russia certainly shouldn't benefit from this military recklessness/sloppiness. They should be punished - short of starting WWIII, there are still many tools in the kit.

If we don't, it will happen again. And again. And that's how we sleepwalk into WWIII.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very much in favor of punishment for the invasion of Ukraine. I advocate assassinating putin.

Putin is a toxic narcissist, a war criminal, the kind of person who could open up his own wing of Hell.

That said, while he may have started this war, I'm not sure how much control he has over it anymore. Or that whoever might come after Putin will be any better. The whole Russian political system is rotten and toxic to its core. Axing the figurehead might not even change that much.

The West should stay out of that viper's pit, doing something like that would only confirm the worst assumptions underlying Russia's hysterical warmed-over Cold War-era propaganda.

It may have been a mistake for some headlines to lead with the "Russian-made" detail, without highlighting the context of the war regarding Russia's massive aerial missile war and Ukraine's active countermeasures (which also involve missiles).

A Ukrainian missile landing in Polish land is certainly a mistake. There's zero chance Ukraine would attack Poland, a NATO ally and the source of most of its military supplies, deliberately.

Reminder to be skeptical toward stories that have just broke and haven't had time to circulate and have all the facts developed.
