Why we're gonna be alright even if we lose the House.

Why we're gonna be alright even if we lose the House. | Democrats have defended the U.S. Senate. The race for the U.S. House hasn't been called yet. Democrats seem likely to lose the chamber, narrowly. So? The Senate is far more important. It's where confirmations of Presidential appointees happen, and over the past 2 years, we've seen that the Senate is where congressional policy is actually made, as House Democratic bill after bill has been sent to the Senate floor to die. The U.S. House, on the other hand, is a house of flippin' monkeys. Morons like Lauren Boebert and MTG aside, I mean that literally. The U.S. House flips, all the time. Every single seat in the House is up for re-election every 2 years, and control of the lower chamber of Congress changes quickly with the political winds, just like the Founders intended. It's likely that a tiny Republican U.S. House majority (divided deeply between MAGA and more pragmatic Republicans) will tear itself apart trying to elect a Speaker, and on controversial questions like whether to impeach Biden, let alone getting anything else done. Partial Republican control of Congress will also put Republicans partly on the hook for anything bad that might happen over the next 2 years, and may damage GOP chances in 2024 since they won't be able to run as total outsiders. | image tagged in lauren boebert marjorie taylor greene, house of representatives,congress,republicans,midterms,2022 | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

I’m honestly expecting a dozen impeachment articles that will backfire on them tremendously

They are out for blood and want revenge for Trump's 2 impeachments, on Day 1 of the new Congress preferably. And even if they don't, Trump will make them walk the plank.

Even if voters can't recall all the details of Trump's First Impeachment (timely Ukraine connection notwithstanding), the American people are smart enough to see that Trump's role the Jan. 6 riot was impeachment-worthy, and that the whole GOP remains stained by failing to remove and bar him from future office forever at that point.

An impeachment of Biden would be more like the impeachment of Clinton - a big nothing-burger, minus the lurid sexual details which held the press's attention in that instance (but still resulted in big Republican losses in the '98 election).

Very true.

I suspect it would be a numbers game. Something like “he got more than Trump” to push their candidate, even if that’s Trump himself.
