In case that you may have wondered,
I'm Simo the autistic mad-scientist, you see -
Clad in top-hat and plague-doctor attire,
With genius mind and charmed formality;

Born and bred in the city of Chicago,
Under Italian banker's hands was raised --
By Irish-Catholic luck, love, and learning,
My perception of reality was forged and made.

From a young age I have fiercely struggled,
With great psycho-emotional calamity -
From the start I was emotionally troubled,
From intellectual old-soul dark-empathy.

For years I have learned and pondered,
All kinds of science and philosophy;
But none have seemed to unshackle me
From this dark prison of reality.

For a long time I have gravely suffered,
From depression, stress, and anxiety so vast -
I distracted myself with creative hobbies,
Though its blissful peace never seemed to last.
---------------------------------------------------
I studied science, philsophy, and religion;
I created art, music, writing, and so much more --
I have things that I invented and created,
Yet still no bliss from Eden as of yore.

I frantically looked for a solution,
From the dark nihilism encroaching upon me -
In desperation and out of genuine odd-ball interest,
I joined the Furries out of benign curiosity.
---------------------------------------------------
Under the Furries' support I have gotten much better,
I've made friends, lovers, and fame-&-fortune, too -
Though I still have long ways to go for recovery,
I shall see these unshackled mental burdens through.
