if it were the other way, where Republicans controlled the House and Senate are lost control, MSM would be non-stop 24/7 "Blue Tsunami !!" or "Blue Hurricane!!" For the past couple decades, Democrats have lost their base and act as if nothing is going wrong for them. Imagine if a football coach took the same approach as the Democrats, they'd be fired not keep getting re-elected for 40 years.

Democrats don't need a base. Only cultists do. Which is why MAGA has such a huge base.
Ideally, we would need no bases, or parties even. Our system is deeply flawed because of demagogues. An optimal system would allow the best candidates to run and win. The 1st amendment has been abused and corrupted into carte-blanche for liars and snake oils-people.
