They already are!!!

Lots of people had free check marks in the past.

But they were verified people. They weren't for fake accounts. Now fake accounts are just buying the blue checkmark.

I doubt all of them were verified people. We already know that people were rejected from verification and then approached directly with offers to sell verification. Why wouldn't those shady employees verify bots for cash, as well?

They're not. That's what I'm trying to tell you. Twitter is straight up just giving that blue tick for money to clearly fake accounts now.
