I agree it’s clickbait journalism of dubious origin.

Counterpoint: Information is tightly controlled in Russia, Vladimir Putin would never actually admit to being a coward, and I assume the Western diplomat who allegedly made the threat will never identify themselves, either. Making the whole story impervious to fact-checking.

So, we’ll never know, but in the meantime, it’s highly entertaining.
