ASGARD CALLS TO ME: A Viking Poem By
SimoTheFinlandized / Paul Palazzolo (2022 CE)
============================================
Ships on vigor of the waves are now skimming,
From the barren summits to the verdant plains;
Each grand horizon is a new beginning -
Rise and then reign!
============================================
Far from the ancient fjords and the ice-cold currents,
With black-feathered ravens soaring over new frontiers;
Both songs and sagas of heroic fates to be determined -
Written with emboldened shields and spears!
============================================
Vows of great favor or the looting thrills of plunder,
Pull together for both the Viking clan and kin;
Clanking of hammers and the crashing of thunder -
Pounding in metal hearts within!
============================================
Sails are swaying on the crimson rivers,
Blood and glory lay waste to the fighting fields;
Shields now shattered into splintered timbers -
Through force of iron and steel!
============================================
Bellowing fires are rising and bells are ringing,
Glory now taking us into Odin's great halls,
Golden glimmering and cheerful sound of singing -
This is divine Asgard's call!
============================================
Wind and the waves will carry me,
Wind and the waves will set me free;
With the echoes of eternity singing,
Of Valhalla calling me
============================================
Wind and the waves will carry me,
Wind and the waves will set me free;
To pluck ancient strings of destiny,
For that, Asgard calls to me!
