alright the jag has 20% building speed increase so it's one of his better wrench's, not to mention the gunslinger will allow to focus more on supporting your team, replacing a normal sentry with a mini one, it may be smaller but it can still lock down an area, allowing you to focus more on dispenser's or teleporters, not to mention leavening the sentry alone since once a mini blows up you can slam down another one real quick like, letting the engi go forward and shoot down the opposing team, hope this helps

Like I said the gunslinger is another option to use, plus stock is good to use to, not to mention the rescue ranger can repair your sentry from a snipers range, and allow you to move your sentry gun anywhere on the map for the cost of 100 metal, making better for defense,

A insightful comment, I applaud your game sense, The loadout I mainly stick with is my strange killstreak shotgun, my metal soul pistol, and the jag. Very good for defending and getting sentries in a blink of an eye.

Something recommended for the jag is to equip the rescue ranger with it, to nullify the jag's downside of slower repair rate just by shooting buildings with the rescue ranger.
Although this does mean you're in quite some trouble if your sentry goes down

Soeaking as a person with a little over 300 hours, i can tell you this, get the eureka effect, it lets you go to a teleporter without it recharging and ect. or, use the gunslinger, minisentries are good for quick area denial. and use either the widowmaker or rescue ranger, the widow maker is good if you want to deal damage and be supportive on the frontline (battle engie) and the rescue ranger is good for emergency repairs on sentries.
