Actually, they also passed the 14th and 15th Amendments (along with the 13th), they passed the 19th Amendment, the Civil Right Acts of 1957, 1960, and 1864. Republican Presidents also sent the 101st Airborne to Little Rock HS, created the EPA, and lots of other stuff. Oh yeah, and they ended the Cold War. Some Democrats tagged along for these achievements, but they were primarily purveyed and supported by Republicans. So no, I would say it's a "Scored four touchdowns in one game in High School, now an NFL Player" sorta deal.
