If you have ever read the book or seen the movie "The Fixer," my Father had a nose from "The Chart of Jewish Noses." His hair was bright red and his eyes were deep blue, befitting his Scottish "Caird," heritage. Other family names, like Sanborn and White don't sound too "ethnic." His first name was Bernard. All his friends knew him as "Tubby," his baby name that stuck even when he was setting High Jumping records. It was not uncommon for him to be called "Bernie," (a name he never took) by people in public, mistaking him for a Jewish relative. These happened in the early 1950s when people were still reuniting with relatives and friends from "the old country." Early in my life I developed an affinity for Jewish people. So, "Yes. These people are my family."
