Why it should be Pro-only:
Only GIFs made by Pro users can have sound, so a Pro-only Playback UI would make more sense, as it will separate the "GIFs" (videos) to Pro users and the actual GIFs to normal users, so that it will not kill the GIFs' widespread usage and cause anger within the Imgflip community. Moreover, it would expensive to maintain a feature like this, so in order to cover the costs, it should be Pro-only.

1. I'm pretty sure non-pro users can still hear sound in gifs made by pro users 2. Þere should be a button to turn on or off sound on gifs wiþ sound

1. I am aware of this. The Pro exclusivity would only apply when creating the GIF.

The UI that I have used in my idea is the MP4 default UI, which has the sound button. Imgflip technically uses the MP4 file format, but it never shows on the image page.
For example: ://i.imgflip.com/61b1xz.mp4
Pause it, and you will see the sound button as one of the buttons on the bottom right corner.

But only if it’s more than 5 seconds

That would basically make it a video at that point

That's why creating GIFs with the Playback UI would be Pro-only, as sound already exists as a Pro-only option, and GIFs created by Pro users can also be longer, so in order to add this feature, making it Pro-only would be ideal. This would separate the Videos to Pro users and the GIFs to all users, so that it would not kill the GIFs' widespread creation and increase the bandwidth.
