Fear is like heroin: too much is bad but in moderation it is good for you.

As someone who's worst fear is getting older: it's stupid. No matter what we do the future doesn't stop so might as well just try to enjoy it while we can.

Fear in general is not really good nor healthy. It can paralyze you and prevent you from enjoying the present. You can't change the past, you have little if any control over the future so why stress about things beyond your control? You have to ask yourself what it is you fear and face it.

my fear is the unknown- nobody knows what will happen in the near-future, but it is very safe to assume that a large portion of it is negative.

Why do you assume it will be mostly negative? Are you basing that on past or present circumstances?

-imminent threat of nukes flying
-the guaranteed eventual death of your friends, family, and yourself
-the worsening political climate of my country (USA) that's been on a downward spiral for the last 6 years
-the most recent recessions following years of lockdowns that caused another previous economic recession

Whenever I look at the past, present, or what little we *do* know about the future, all I see is reasons to be pessimistic.

All good reasons to be concerned, there is no merit in worrying about things that may or may not happen in the future that are beyond your control. What does help however is focusing on things you can control like your own attitude about life, how you treat others and your thoughts and feelings. You can still live a happy fulfilled life everyday by just being the best person you can be in the time and place you find yourself in right now. 😊

People have predicted the end of the world since the beginning of time (I’m assuming) and it’s still here.

I think that it's okay to fear it in moderation due to the unknown nature of the future, but fearing it too much is just pointless and time wasting. It's coming, regardless of whether or not you want it to.

There is really no reason to fear the future, so I don't. A lot of things like climate change and politiks can't truly affect you if you're too busy living life. So yeah, I'm not scared.

There is no right or wrong
Some people think in different ways, and that's perfectly ok.
It only gets bad when they start arguing over which one is right and which is wrong.
