As someone who's hung around the fandom for over a decade, it's definitely the other way around. The increase in NSFW and fetish stuff between then and now is insane! Most of them wouldn't want to be in a furry fandom without p*rn

Either way I'll say that a lot of people are in the same boat, including those who are deeply ingrained in the fandom and who laid the very foundations of it, but for several reasons, their voices were shut out and still are.
