Ignoring the fact that he already had a girlfriend (who I though was a lesbian and probably is), that could be a similar outcome for you
So just give him some hints, and make them more and more obvious until you just straight up (or gay up, if you will) tell him

Nope... but sometimes I think he may be based on things I’ve heard; him not liking anyone and the fact that whenever we see each other he says hey... to be fair that may just be a sign for good friendship... but he doesn’t seem to do it for everyone... gah he is just so freaking cute.

I would be careful. Maybe try to bring it up semi casually, like a friendly, hey, so what kind of people are you into thing? Do you have any conversations together or just "hey"?
