We’re already a socialist country tho.
Republicans have a very different way of going about it and their path leads to a communist dictatorship. True, they do not advocate for one, but the first communist dictatorship was brought about by letting the people starve, overly relying on unwavering nationalism, and killing dissidents through poverty and war.
And this notion that administrations determine economic boons or downfalls proves we’re already there.
What most countries actually have is a socio-capitalistic structure. The four biggest first world counties, the US, the UK, Russia, and even Communist China rely on both socialism and capitalism. Certainly not all to the same way. Definitely, not. But to undo this socio-capitalism is also dangerous as it is to fully remove what little of a free market we have.
Take the America First initiative. To punish cooperations from outsourcing to other countries. How is that not the government behaving not unlike a socialist country? Sure, the intent is to strengthen the state economy and while Republicans desire a free market, impeding the international expansion of a corporation is counterintuitive to this.
