Taste and smell without question
I need to see, I need to hear, I need to touch, but I don't need to taste or smell. In fact, not having taste would make it easier not to eat unhealthy food.

Good point. I feel like life might get a little too dull, though

better than not being able to see or hear lol

It is still possible to function well without sight in today's society, right? I think no taste would make me kms lol

💯 My thoughts exactly! I get pleasure out of eating but it's also killing me.

Heh, not to mention all the smells I'd be glad to never have to experience again! 🤢

Very true. I already have a pretty bad sense of smell lol

Sight, in the modern age when seeing is believing, when everyone is connected to a screen looking at everything through a filter, I feel like there would be more freedom to actually listen, feel, taste, smell when you don't depend on seeing with your own eyes.

Creepy and true. We won't need any senses in heaven although it's the Catholic belief that at the end of time (whenever that is) our bodies will join our souls in heaven or hell and thus the ecstasy and torments will be enhanced

I think the distinction between heaven and hell would lose its relevance after enough time. An eternity of anything sounds like hell to me.

I feel you with respect to sight. The visual cortex does most of the heavy lifting for processing sensory stimuli. Thanks to neural plasticity, all that bandwidth is readily repurposed for the remaining senses.

In the meantime, one could experience short-term visual perception via psychedelic-induced synesthesia. Might lead to a spiritual experience as well!

Results may vary. Both can lead to a total and permanent loss of ones mind.

Sight. I value taste, music, and physical contact more than visual art.

Sight is something everyone relies on. Without it, you'll keep stubbing your toe everywhere and will find it extremely hard to adapt to a new environment. Also, your appearance will be worse than you would like and television, smart phones, books, and video games will be absolutely useless.

Everyone relies on all of these. Losing any one would be terrible. I think I could personally handle losing sight best , though

Sight and hearing are essential. Touch is also very useful without question. So I'd lose taste and smell. The funny thing is, there are a lot of upsides to losing your sense of smell. Like being able to stand a REALLY STINKY environment such as public bathrooms or perfume shops.

Taste and smell.
As a musician, I need to be able to see, hear, and touch, but I don't need to taste or smell.
