Remember when Disney put out a Star Wars movie every year? That was pretty gross. They were trying too hard to be like Marvel.
And within 4 movies, they officially had their first box office bomb with Solo. How could you make Star Wars, a franchise that was considered too big to fail, fall so quickly?
And now Disney is so afraid to put anything Star Wars related into theaters because they’re afraid it won’t be profitable (also the directors they hire get fired because Kathleen Kennedy can’t stand them). So this once beloved franchise is nothing more than another prisoner of Disney+. It’s honestly sad.
Same thing with Star Trek. It’s become nothing more than just TV show sludge designed to sell subscriptions to Paramount Plus. We haven’t had a new movie since 2016.
To be fair, Star Trek started off as a TV show, but the movies were just as successful as the shows were if not more so. People went to go see Star Trek 2009. But by Star Trek Beyond in 2016, everyone was just turned off, and it bombed as well.
