Wow! This has to be one of the finest uses of colour blocking in the brilliant artist's catalogue. Every single item on the page is a pop of whimsical colour, yet this is pulled off in such a way that makes it appear natural and not as an eyesore. It reminds me of an illustration that may appear in a child's graphic novel, easily giving a big-sister vibe. The 80s-esque poster on the wall is a nice touch, especially since although this artist is younger than much of the aesthetic she derives her inspiration from, but she nails it as if she were there personally. Her frame of reference is unlike any other I know. The shine on the base of the telephone, the geometric print on the lampshade, the cascading hair of the girl in the illustration, and even the feather-tipped bit in her diary all come together to create the whimsical world of this bubbly adolescent created by the artist.
