Fighters, like UO or DG can have more powerful strikes and more stamina to move around, which can explain how both are able to hold their own in combat and even take down more threats, some bigger than others. Researchers like Professor Blue will be able to get more samples much more safely. Weapon artists like Purple can craft and forge weapons that can be more powerful than the base weapon. Medics like Teal can basically use medkits more effectively, leading to faster recovery. And merchants like Matthew 'Green' Godfried can specialize in what they make and/or sell to assist with combat. All in all, the Ammune Gene can be more powerful than Inkstone magic depending on who has it.
