Add Homescapes to the list of egregiously false advertising.
PS: If for any reason I am mistaken and the games do have a play mode like what they show in their ads, let me know. Until I know otherwise, I am going to say it's a safe assumption that they are bait and switching.
I think I've solved why this is a thing.
1) If they made their game like their ads, they'd have difficulty monetizing it (aka, they lack creativity)
and 2) They can get away with this because there are yet no international laws that penalize this sort of predatory behavior.
What we can all do is delete these games and never play them again to send a message that this sort of advertising is not ok.
Apps that do this:
Evony: Return of the King (perhaps the worst suspect)
State of Survival
Township
Will add more to this list as they become known.
(Edit) Evony: The King's Return is the name of the first game. Why would they feel the need to make ads that say "there are fake ads out there, but this is not one of them" unless it was, in fact, their fake ads they were referring to.
