Ok, storytime. So, after escaping an abandoned factory where horrible science projects took place, Kat, Cinder, and Jacob, went to the nearest place they could find in the dark, the grocery store. Meanwhile, Jacob's old friend, Connor, who was thought dead, killed by one of the experiments, was in fact saved by a failed experiment, Heather. They managed to find the others and the five young teenagers teamed up to survive for the current time. After a while, they get captured and brought back to the factory, where they have to survive a bunch of virtual trials if they want to escape. At this point, Cinder has had a standing almost-obsessive crush on Kat since she saved her life, but it was pretty obvious that Kat liked Heather. Cinder denies this, even after both Connor and Jacob try to tell her. Heather, though oblivious of Kat's liking for them, quickly catches on to Cinder(who is slowly resenting them more and more)'s crush. It's an innocent teasing thing that goes on as the five pass trial after trial, mostly due to Kat's intelligence and knack for puzzle-solving. However, on the seventh trial, they are forced into a knife fight. Heather gets fatally wounded pushing Cinder out of the way but goes into "nightmare form" instead of dying. "Listen, guys...I'm blacking out again...And I-I don't think I'll make it out this time..." They snap and quickly turn on the four, who barely escape. Cinder swears that she'll be better. That she should have gotten the blade. She leads the rest through the few remaining trials quickly, until they confront the one who had started and conducted the experiments. He admits Heather's becoming harder to control, and will soon be a threat to everyone. Cinder doesn't trust him at all, but Kat is desperate and will do anything to help Heather, so Cinder agrees. A bunch of forced teamwork happens, Jacob and Connor (MAYBE) get together(idk i haven't decided yet) and Cinder trades the nightmare form with Heather, taking it on herself. "Don't worry about me. Get Heather out of here and make this sucker pay. I have to say goodbye now." On command, after Cinder gets the nightmare form, is shot and killed by Kat, who completely breaks down. Timeskip. Jacob is a lawyer, Connor's in college, the scientist was locked in jail and died there due to an unknown disease, Kat and Heather become partner web comic artists/authors.
