The taste can actually be affected by the material of the container; glass, plastic, metal, etc. but with temperature, cold water just numbs your tastebuds so you don't taste certain chemicals vs with warm water. Not technically an actual difference in the flavor itself, but yeh

No, I don't know the science behind it but I do know that some water is bitter and some water tastes like nothing to me, it ha something to do with the taste of your saliva matching the taste of the water or something like that.
