It actually infuriates me when movie companies say that their bad movie is the victim of review bombing, and how review bombing is this horrible, traumatizing thing that should never happen.
NO movie gets review bombed for no reason. If your movie is experiencing a bunch of people rating it 1-star, it definitely speaks to the quality of the show.
It’s disingenuous to say that review bombing only happens because people want to push a cultural or political agenda. The movie with the most 1-star reviews on IMDb is Fifty Shades of Gray, followed by some of the Twilight movies. There’s no political agenda behind those review bombs. Those are just bad movies.
Even The Shawshank Redemption is in the top 10 for most 1-star reviews on IMDb. And it is STILL the highest rated movie on the site. The Shawshank Redemption was actually able to survive review bombing because the genuine and non-artificial positivity surrounding that movie completely drowns out the negative reactions no matter how many there are.
That is NEVER going to happen with She-Hulk OR The Rings of Power. The ONLY way they can bump their show’s ratings up is by manually deleting negative reviews and brushing them off as politically influenced. Absolutely pathetic.
