(furry discussion post) people have a lot of different stances on this, what're yours?

I'd rather not give my opinion on this, in short. I find it kinda pointless.

It’s understandable seeing some species locked behind creators but people can just circumvent this by taking a screenshot of the base or another persons OC and just erase the coloring while keeping most of the lines intact. It’s a shitty way to get an OC but people do it. I know because I know one person who has made an illegal OC before and while I was taking OC requests, they would occasionally give me bases to use and I have no clue whether some of my OCs are illegal or not.

I guess it just proves shows that some people can be sensitive about their creations.

I mean, I don't see a real problem with it, but I certainly don't LIKE it.

I mean, I'm making one rn, so technically its closed. Anyways, closed species in general are just... pointless? People are still gonna make them. And you can't stop them

a closed species is a species that the creator limits the use of, like primagen for an example, that to get use of you need to pay for. Different creators handle their closed species in different ways, but most don't let you have a character using the species unless you pay or enter a raffle or something.

it's... cool and creative but being locked behind the creator... its understandable to say the least
