You forget, they truly let nothing go to waste. Because the O2 they produce is the biproduct of them digesting our CO2. So we are feeding them for all time. In life and in death only to resume the cycle later through other species and our molecules are spread, consumed, recycled again and again in the soup of the rest of everything that has ever died.
