My vote doesn't come cheap

I would at least put two restrictions on the forgiveness.
1 You must have completed your degree with a good grade point average.
2 You must be working in a field related to the degree.

No forgiveness for people who are just sitting on their butts collecting unemployment.

I'm signing up for an $800 course and taking out a loan for $10k. It's $9000 in free money, why not take it?

Why be angry at people for taking free money in compensation for their business being shut down? If the loans were used for the intended purpose, they were forgiven.

ah gotcha, so good for the rich, bad for the poor.

It was used to pay workers who were forced out of work because of the pandemic. If they pocketed the money, go after them for fraud.
