Neither does a post-birth baby for that matter.
>> Yes they do, post-birth babies (this is a redundant term because the term "baby" refers to those who are actually born. Stop making up words) post birth babies feel pain and respond to it.
Are you advocating for killing babies once they’re out of the womb because they can’t advocate for themselves?
>> Is that something you believe anyone would advocate?
Because that’s basically the argument you’re making.
>> No it isn't. That's the argument *you* want me to make.
Hell, animals can’t talk or advocate for themselves, but there’s still animal cruelty laws on the books, because we recognize their lives have value, so why would we not give actual humans that same courtesy?
>> Because they aren't alive. Also, the choice rests with the one who has to carry it to term, whether or not they want to take the health risk.
I’m not even for banning all abortions, I recognize that there are instances where abortion is a necessary evil such as in cases of rape. But if you’re going to push for unrestricted abortion, no reason necessary, yeah you’ve lost me.
>> No one pushes for abortion without restriction. You'll find most pro-choice people usually limit the period to decide within the first trimester.
I'm not saying you're an idiot, but if you're truly this misinformed about the pro-choice crowd, yeah you've lost me.
"So? Literally every teenager I’ve ever met has said or thought this before regardless of how good or bad life was growing up. Should we kill them all just because life sucks sometimes? No, that’s insane."
Interesting, you've walked in their shoes? You know their plights? As a teenager I wish I had died, and I had good reason to. Do you know for a fact that each teenager didn't have a reason for wishing that to make it valid? I'm picking up on a lack of mental health awareness, coupled with a "This doesn't affect me, but I'm going to give my two cents on why I think why I should make a restrictive law over this."
At the end of the day, there are health risks with carrying a pregnancy to term. Mental and physical. The mother is the best judge on whether or not she should endure this procedure. As it is said & well known: when it comes to your health, you are your best advocate.
This anti-abortion stance is largely unpopular and is going to continue to hurt the right wing so long as it remains in place. Kansas flipped for it. Kansas of all places. The writing is on the wall.
