It's almost like they fill the same exact role but for different eras with minor armor distinctions that are the only real difference.

So now your equating clones with Stormtroopers? So that must mean Stormtroopers are awesome and the best warriors in the galaxy by your own admission.

And they don't fulfill the same roles. Clones where just a praetorian guard when they weren't warring, Stormtroopers are peacekeepers, laborers and policemen tasked with the responsibility of keeping order in the fractured, lawless hellscape of the former republic.

I have. I still love Stormtroopers that are volunteer peacekeepers and lothe the clone troopers that are child soldiers and cannon fodder for autocrats.

The clone troopers were superior in most ways. They’re much stronger, faster, and quicker than stormtroopers. They’re braver and more loyal. In theory, the clones are almost superhuman and the perfect soldiers. But the stormtroopers have one thing going for them:

They are cheaper.

Obviously, I am not comparing human lives. They’re priceless. But from the perspective of a war commander, there is a cost to each unit.Clone troopers are elite, top-quality soldiers, but they are extremely expensive. Each clone is a huge investment. Next, you want to equip them well so you make the most out of your investment and enable them to bring out their great combat capabilities.

Stormtroopers, on the other hand, are much cheaper. You don’t pay their parents to make them, less training means less training cost, and they’re not as well-equipped.

So are stormtroopers inferior to clone troopers? Evidently, it depends on the situation. Clone troopers are much better soldiers, but stormtroopers take less out of your budget.
