I saw "Republican Party" on his Wikipedia page when I was making this meme, but I went ahead with it as I'd imagined it originally. I confess I was surprised to see that.

But it comes down to this: who you used to be doesn't count for much. And if you abandon your principles in a time of crisis, you never really had any to begin with.

Finally, actions speak louder than words.
