I know that you'd probably mistake Hero Academy for the infamous UA of My Hero Academia, but actually, the idea of the Hero Academy didn't come from MHA, it came from a TV show I used to watch which was DC Superhero Girls, which took place in Superhero High. I was really fond of the idea, but I would have to change the entire plot of my story for it. So I just made this into this "arc" (it's a very important set of events that happens in the story).
But when I first watched MHA, I realized that I actually didn't even think of a whole course designed just for those who want to make equipment for heroes. But my problem was, Horikoshi didn't give Hatsume an actual moment where she wasn't just the crazy, mad scientist who's just there for fanservice and to make Uraraka jealous until the second war arc, which is almost the end of the series. He also didn't give us any other UA Support course students. (Of course there's more Engineering and Robotics course students than just Nova, I just haven't drawn them yet).
I've made a lot more LGBTQ+ and POC characters, and a lot of students in Hero Academy are of different ethnicities, race and color because the school is an International School that accepts students from all parts of the globe so that anyone from anywhere can be a hero and so that all countries can have heroes and be safe from criminals and villains.
