Yes, because of SEVERAL excellent reasons:

1. Boats are cheaper.
2. Boats are faster.
3. Boats are carryable, meanwhile striders can only be forced around with a leash.
4. Boats can now hold chests, whereas striders aren't.
5. It saves you the hassle of trying to tame something that resides in LITERAL LAVA without risking your hardcore world that you fear more about losing than your 4-year-old baby.
6. If you lose a boat, you can craft a new one in 5 seconds if you have the available materials, instead of spending hours on end trying to tame a "Lava Jesus" as I like to call them, without DYING.
7. No need for trying to find Warped Fungus to put on a stick to navigate these wannabe pigs in a nether mob's skin.

first of all, this wont happen because warped and crimson wood is for the nether. sure, you can build with it in the overworld, but it's mainly for the nether. fire resistant boats cant happen because striders would be useless. therefore, crimson and warped boats will not be coming to minecraft.

i wasnt trying to i was just providing a logical answer to a logical question. since nether materials are not found in the overworld, it makes no sense to create a boat for a wood type that spawns in a place with no water.
