Did you just say that we nuked the USS Nevada twice? What the heck does the internet tell people these days. A nuke dropped right on the Nevada would be dissolved in the plasma ball.

You'd think that would be the case, but apparently it survived even the second one, so they sent every ship available to destroy it. It took five days of continuous fire, but eventually it sank.

I don't know about that, but I know that the Laffey was attacked by 30, and it managed to take down 14, and that's still afloat. The Yamato only managed to take down 10. Still, it's better than the Bitchmarck, which was given a permanent nautical time-out by what was essentially a flying Model T, but since they're both currently tetanus-infested coral reefs, it doesn't really matter either way.

Do you think a battleship that weighs 70k tons would be more maneuverable than a 2k ton destroyer to dodge planes?

I know that it'd be significantly more armored and have more anti-aircraft guns... which, apparently didn't work well enough to save it.
