The novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip K Dick was the basis for Blade Runner. In the book, the replicants were androids. The movie took it a step further by having the replicants completely organic. I guess it would be a great area because Blade Runner replicants were designed, built and programmed by humans. The fact that replicants have programming sort of keep them in the robot category.
