*his pupils dilate*

Jake: (activates a button)

*you feel your soul leave your body*

jake: see you soon..

"h-hey jake-? i've never taken a soul before- i might screw this up and you might be stuck out of your body forever..."

jake: i need to tell you something. i can respawn upon death. kill my soul and i should reappear, healed.

"yeah but if i mess up- you won't die, you'll just be stuck floating in a void"

*cracks your soul in half*

(a pop is heard, then jake is standing right in front of gear)
jake: wow!

*gear sits there silently*

jake: ..gear?

*a grenade drops between the two of you, gear looks at it briefly before it explodes, sending dust everywhere. you hear something hit the wall*

jake: what the-

*you see gear against the wall, screaming in muffled pain,*

jake: shit. he forgort to turn it on. GEAR! PRESS THE BUTTON!

*you see the button half way across the arena*

jake: looks like im gonna have to do this manually. (he starts throwing grenades into the stands)

*a force field bounces them back at you*

jake: AH(runs out of the way)

"our winner is jake!"

Jake: What?! No! (he tries to find gear's body)

*you see Gear limp against the wall*

jake: gear! are you okay?

*you hear screams of agony down the hall*

jake: I'll bet ten dollars that thats him(starts to run toward the screams)

*you see two guards in front of a red haired young man in his early twenties who is chained to the wall with a shock collar around his neck*

jake: (shoots the guards)

*gear runs over to the man*

jake: knew it..!

"Red-? oh god wake up!"

jake: defiblerator?

"still has a pulse"

jake: lets just carry him to the hospital.

"will he make it?"

jake: …i dont know…

"we have to try"

jake: and try i will.

*pulls the chains off of Red*

jake: you carry him, i'll check that the coast is clear.

"okay"

gear hears some gunshots when jake walks out of the room he comes back in. he looks worried but gear decides not to question it.
jake: coast is clear.

*carries Red*

they walk out of the building and head to the nearest hospital

*they escort you out of the arena on the other side*

jake: YOU ARE ONLY GIVING ME MORE REASONS TO DESTROY THIS ENTIRE ARENA IN LESS THAN A NANOSECOND.

*they put you in a cell and you feel a needle in your arm, making you very sleepy*

jake: s-shit..

*you feel yourself black out*

jake:…

*you hear the distant squeaking of shoes pounding against the floor*

jake: w-wh-what...

*you hear the lock on your cell rattle*
"dammit they already got to you-"

jake: got to me?

"i think...i think i've snapped from the pressure..."

jake: of what?

*gears sits with his head in his knees*

jake: we'll get you out of here safely.

"and my brother."

jake: brother?!

"yeah."

jake: where is he?

"don't know"

jake: then lets go look.

*you walk for miles before you even make it to the city*

jake: (sudden anger) THIS IS TAKING TOO LONG! WALK FASTER!

*Gear falls to his knees*
"too...hot..."he says, collapsing into the sand

jake: (normal) maybe i could teleport us there?

*silence from Gear*

jake: (presses a button) teleporting in 3…2…1…

they are suddenly outside the hospital

*gear doesn't move, possibly from over heating and dehydration*

he carries them both into the emergeny room before passing out

*gear doesn't respond*

jake: (runs over to him and taps his shoulder) gear?

*gear collapses and his eyes slip shut*

jake: shit..(he checks for a pulse)

*you feel his pulse strongly beat, but his breath ceases to exist*

jake: go***mnitt... i need him to die so i can heal him.

*two people walk out into the arena and take gear away*

jake: NO! (he snaps his fingers and teleports to gear)

*one of the people holds you back*

Jake: LET GO OF ME!

"on one end we have a newbie! and the other- our reigning champion, Gear!"

jake: this wont be that hard.

*he carries no weapons, looks no older than fourteen*

jake: you're small.

"sp?"

jake: easier than expected.

"don't judge so quick"

jake: true. sometimes it takes more than ten sceonds to kill someone

*growls in an unhumanly tone*

jake: i could be done with you in around 20-30 seconds, but naybe I'll let it drag on.

*growls*

jake: hit me, you stupid piano!

*attacks you leaving bloody gashes on your face*

the gashes instantly reappear on gear.
jake: this machine deflects anything that could bring harm to me.

*gear stops and looks in pain*

jake: (pulls out a syringe and injects gear. his injuries dissappear.) what happens if we dont fight?

"then the arena decides our fate."

jake: i can protect you.

"you can try-"

he deactivates the button, throws it to gear.
jake: I'll be fine. press the button and youll be safe.

*you wake up to find yourself lying on one of the cots*

jake: where.. where am i?

"the hospital, you passed out here with you friends"

"damn... i don't think i can carry you..."

jake: i just have to retet my body... wait.. uhhhh...

"what?"

jake: can you kill me?

*gear looks visibly upset at that idea*

jake: you need to.

"o-okay-"

jake: thank you.

*gear breathes shakily*

jake: its okay.

*the door swings open*

jake: hello??

*you barely make out the outline of gear*

jake: gear..?

"yeah, yeah. no i'm not a ghost"

jake: but how? and what did you mean you mean by'got to me'?

"oh those guards are really really dumb. i held my breath."

jake: i cant belive they drugged me tho

"then it'll be harder to get you out...can you walk?"
*you cannot*
