he observes from his position, forever lodged in place, unable to move. He's watched dinosaurs die out, he's watched mountains fall and grow, he's watched rivers move across the landscape. He's watched the stars move themselves, he's watched the sun get brighter. He's watched trees cover the landscape, and he's watched wildfires burn them out. He's watched civilizations rise and he's watched civilizations fall. Yet he cannot do anything, for he simply observes.
