Kind of enlightening to watch Jon Stewart fight harder for our veterans than the Republican Party is willing to. So much for their claims of living our military. It’s shocking but not surprising. When you watch what trump did to Capitol police on January 6th with his mob of domestic terrorists, well it’s clear the gop have no loyalty for law enforcement, the constitution or our military. Keep that in mind when you vote.

When I enlisted the Republican Party was in lock step with democrats in their support for the military. But once they became the retrumplican party they gave up any loyalty to their oaths, the military, the poor and middle class, the constitution and simple decency. Now the gop stands for nothing but culture wars, racism , fear and hate. A lot of democrats are just as worthless. Too many of these bastards we send to DC are not there to legislate, they are there to campaign and hold power. But the gop are the worst. Turning their backs on sick veterans is a shame when you consider the cowards holding the bill up never had the courage to serve themselves. Nothing in that bill changed from the original June vote up to now. Except retrumplican senators are looking at this through the lens of the midterms and think that this will constitute a “win” for democrats. Pathetic

Tommy Lee Jones, No Country.. | WHY ARE YOU AFRAID OF WAITING ONE WEEK TO MAKE SURE THE BILL DOES WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL. | image tagged in tommy lee jones no country | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

The bill hasn’t changed since June when everyone except a handful of republicans wouldn’t sign off on it. Veterans are dying now. Today. Because of a lack of proper healthcare. Read the bill yourself. There is and never was any language about discretionary spending. It’s a debunked nonsense argument being used as a weapon for the midterms. Pathetic

Looks like the Republican senators must’ve finally actually read the bill as well. Tumeys nonsense was dismissed, and the bill passed as is. Just needs the president’s signature. If he is able to find a pen.

Folks are dying while the gop plays games. There wasn’t a language change except from Pat tumey. And his amendment goes directly against what the veterans administration has stated is required to help veterans. So noble

Money for the VA no money for Chuckie LOL

Yea so I’m not sure why the gop are not willing to sign off on it. Every cent is dedicated to veterans health care. Same as it’s been since June when everyone except like 12 republicans agreed on. Read the bill yourself

LOl. if that's the case one week and a amendment assuring it won't hurt a bit.

It’s done. Tumeys amendment will not be added as it is unnecessary. Senate voted yesterday. Biden will sign it into law today I’m guessing. Looks like the republicans finally actually read the bill themselves and realized there was no discretionary spending, like I told you. But they were shamed into voting for it as it became crystal clear that the gop were just playing games with veterans healthcare because the midterms

Programs that benefit veterans healthcare. Yup, like I been telling you, not a single penny for anything other than veterans healthcare. Now you’re catching on

Now that you found out that you were pushing debunked nonsense about some imaginary discretionary spending in the bill, and you were wrong, you still want to push the lie, huh? Tumey didn’t bend a knee, he was forced to actually read the bill and shamed into doing the right thing for our veterans. Thank Jon Stewart for exposing the gop lies about the bill and finally getting our fellow veterans the healthcare they’ve earned. I’m fortunate, I don’t have to rely on the VA for very much. But so many others needed it .

Well I agree they shouldn’t be splitting hairs about what to cover and not cover there is nothing in the bill that allows for any spending other than veterans healthcare. Which is what I been telling you since yesterday. Tumey didn’t take a knee, tumey was proven to just be either misinformed or was flat out lying. He didn’t choose to back down, his amendment was rejected because it served no purpose. There wasn’t any discretionary spending for Schumer or any other politicians. All the money is for healthcare for veterans as it was in June before the gop thought playing games with veterans healthcare was a winning strategy for the midterms
0 ups, 3y
And even after it was established that there was no discretionary spending other than for veterans healthcare, a bunch of republicans STILL voted no. So much for the right loving our military. At least the majority of the right managed to access their patriotic side and vote alongside the democrats to provide necessary support to our veterans in need. Do you think they voted no because the bill didn’t benefit wealthy folks or corporations? Or was it simply that veterans like myself served their purpose and the gop no longer feels that they matter?

Like I said, it’s shocking that a senator would withhold funds from veterans health care, but it’s not surprising that it’s the gop doing it.

it's shocking the Fuxking VA would deliberately withhold benefits until the person dies but I have seen it firsthand. the VA is democrat jobs program helping vets is the last thing on their mind,

Tough to withhold benefits that the senate won’t sign off on lol. You should probably read the bill instead of allowing Cruz or Tumey or Tucker Carlson or OAN or newsmax to tell you what is really in there. As a veteran, I actually follow these issues. It directs my voting.

The VA has been screwing vets for 77 years way before this bill went to congress it's kinda their thing its what they do. Good Doctors, but for rank and file there there, its their rice bowl and a bunch of sick vets aren't going to upset the gravy train.

I hear ya. I’m always disappointed when I walk into a VA hospital. Hopefully our leaders will find a way to fix that. Oh wait, they just did. Although it’s not a silver bullet, the bill will definitely help and leaving out Tumeys amendment (because it was unnecessary) will also help

I told you , you should’ve actually read the bill before you continued to look foolish. I wonder how many other times you have repeated debunked gop nonsense on this app? We all seen it yesterday as in real time you were crying about some imaginary discretionary spending lol.

Ahhhh, insulting veterans. Yeah , you just became the lowest common denominator. No different than trump crying about wounded warriors sitting up front at a Memorial Day celebration at the White House when he looked at John Kelly and said,” Do they have to sit up front? Nobody wants to see that.” I guess that’s what your orange messiah has taught you

You need to get with the times cupcake, the bill pays for medical treatment, and ONLY medical treatment. But , I’m just just relaying what is happening in reality . Nice try at covering the un-American republicans collective asses though. You’ll probably be offered a position as head propaganda artist for them. Do better

Son, you are so detached from reality, so willfully ignorant, it boggles the mind. Not a single thing has changed in that bill since June when the gop agreed on it. Not one single thing. The gop are playing games with our veterans lives because they feel that this bill would be a win for the democrats before the midterms. That’s all it’s about to them.

SON Great then you won’t mind them voting on the amended version later this week and if not explain why you think Tumey’s admendment isn’t bad…. SON

They need to vote on the original bill that they all except 14 republicans voted yes for back in June. Pat Tumeys amendment, yes it’s spelled amendment is nothing more than the gop continuing to make sick veterans lives harder. I’m one of the lucky ones, I retired from service and started my own business. But many weren’t that fortunate. I spend time at my VFW and the VA hospital cooking or fund raising and it’s clear to all my brothers there that the Republican Party has abandoned us.

The VA administration signed off. Nobody blew any whistle lol. Ted Cruz and Fox News spewing nonsense doesn’t make it true. Fact- Ted Cruz was asked to specifically point out the line that was added to the bill. Fact- he couldn’t. Because it never existed. Just more politicians playing games with veterans.

I’m not sure who Chucky is except the little doll that kills everyone. Thankfully, there was no language in the bill to allow any money to be spent on anything other than veterans health care. Read the bill, stop allowing crazy far right wing propaganda media and politicians fill your head with nonsense about it.

0 ups, 3y
I couldn’t say, I’m over 50 and clearly remember the movies back in the 80’s or 90’s. Don’t remember much bout it other than a doll killing folks. But it was more entertaining than the gop false claims of discretionary spending

It means the money can be used for many healthcare issues for veterans. What part of healthcare for veterans are you struggling with pinhead? Are you soft in the head? You lost this debate two days ago when you parroted Tumey. Nothing has changed since then. Just like nothing has changed in the bill since June when most republicans agreed on it. Move on kiddo, you’re just proving yourself to be a conspiracy theory loving cult member.

You’re welcome for the free education these past few days sunshine. Remember this the next time you want to try to use nonsense to debate me.
0 ups, 3y
You pointing out what I’ve already explained to you doesn’t really make much sense lol. But you keep trying to redefine what the words say, maybe if you repeat it enough times it will come true. The says all funds go towards veterans healthcare. Full stop
0 ups, 3y
But it is good that you finally actually read the bill. And thank you for proving my original point! All funds go towards veterans healthcare

I read the whole bill, as did the senate. There is no and has never been any words about spending that money on anything other than veterans healthcare. Let it go man, you lost this debate when you posted your first comment.

Are you Alex Jones? You are citing exactly what I’ve been telling you. There is no language that says any of the money can be spent on anything other than veterans healthcare. Are you actually starting to believe your own nonsense? You can perform whatever mental gymnastics you want to try to redefine what the bill says but unfortunately for you, that doesn’t change the facts and the words. You backed tumey, who wanted to play games with getting veterans help. Once it became clear that he was misrepresenting what the bill says he shut up and sat down . You should follow his example
