Yes.

Because once when me and my family were on vacation (can't remember where), I almost got stung by one. How? Almost stepped on it (the scorpion somehow got into one of our rooms). The lights were off, and I didn't have my glasses, so I couldn't see anything. Turned on the lights, and just a few feet in front of me, there was a freaking scorpion.
