But I'm sure it's better than me, I was a disturbance in the 3rd grade. And as a result they started putting me in advanced classes in the 4th grade.

I was just going for the self deprecating humor bit.
BTW, same here, double promoted me twice for being somewhat spirited in grammar school. Screwed my whole life up, had just turned 12 starting high school. The Italians were already shaving, and I'm a shrimpy kid walking around bald in Gym class. PLUS, put me in the braino classes too ! I had no business being there, had the IQ, but NO study ethic. (shows ya what a Union, Democratically run school system is capable of)
College I figured it out, had to do all I could to steal my education from the phoning it in teachers.

I wasn't allowed to skip grades. Private schools as an honor student.
One of my tricks was I liked to figure out how the instructors in college. So I could review that information and didn't have to study that much. And I was lucky, I was able to test out of math.
