So it is, and so it always has been. My archaeology teacher pointed out that all hunter-gatherer societies (so, most of humanity's history) have methods of limiting childbearing, because you can't travel and have more than one child every five or so years. Abortifacients are certainly as old as ancient Greece and Rome, and probably go all the way back to our ancestors who lived in caves.
The argument that all abortions are murder, on the other hand, is mostly a modern one, rooted in a new sort of evangelical Christianity. And, as we already see happening, some women who lose their pregnancies naturally are being prosecuted for it, along with women who have chosen abortion and are dealing with differing degrees of resistance to their choice.
Different cultures have different ways of acknowledging and grieving the inevitable losses of some pregnancies. Pictured in the meme you see the mizuko, a Japanese response to pregnancy loss.
Ultimately Matthew 7:1 is the guiding principle I'd take on the whole issue.
