So sorry to hear that. Animals to me are as like people... sometimes a lot better than some. Think of the times you shared. I had a quasi-tamed a feral cat. It took me months of feeding her just for one pet a week. LOL. But, during that really harsh Winter of 2021, she wouldn't stay in the cat house I had made for her. It had a heater in it, But her even more feral kitten wouldn't hear of it. And, they went under the house to weather out the freeze. Eventually, the racoons got her. I'm sad to this day about.
