Although I meant it more as gallows humor.

Do you think that people are better off dead than living in poverty?

It's not just poverty, it's the collapse of the food chain due to pollution and overconsumption, coupled with deadly heat waves and storms. Future generations will live in hell on Earth.

So if I’m interpreting your statement correctly you think that our entire species isn’t worth existing because of the way it’s heading?

You apparently don't understand the difference between deserving to die (not having the right to live because of severe wrongdoing) and having the right to die (because of unbelievable pain, etc.). In the first case the person is not worthy of life, in the second life is not worthy of the person.

That said, I do embrace my eventual death, as all people should, because death is the natural and necessary end of life. Most philosophies and religions teach this.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I thought you were implying that we all deserve to die because of our impact on the environment.

In America, probably. But I wouldn't force someone to make that decision in the first place. That's kind of the whole point. Not forcing someone to give birth to a child who will grow up miserable and is more likely to kill themselves in the first place.

"They learned that the rate of suicides in children and adolescents is 37 percent higher in counties with the highest levels of poverty – where more than 20 percent of the population in the county lives below the federal poverty level."

So do you think that that kids that live in would be better off dead than ever live at all in poverty, where there could be anything that would make their life worth living? That life just isn't worth living?

I don’t see why not. He’s in a horrible situation, but does that mean he should be dead?

You keep in dodging my question. Do you or do you not think that children are better off dead when they live in poverty or any other bad situation?

I'm not the same person you were talking to earlier, but yes, I think many children are better off dead than living the "lives" we adults force them into.
