When the covid outbreak happened, lots of people panicked and were all for government enforcing covid restrictions and even lashed out at anyone who didn't obey them and even lashed out at anyone who questioned the restrictions, calling people horrible things such as 'selfish', 'anti-science', 'far-right conspiracy theorists', 'granny killers', etc. but now that monkeypox is spreading among gay men who f**k strangers people aren't inclined to criticize them or even point out that it is spreading among those communities or even acknowledge the World Health Organization's guidelines to reduce the number of sex partners because they don't wanna hurt gay people's feelings. Just so you know, I don't want to use monkeypox as an excuse to be homophobic or use any public health crisis to push a toxic divisive political agenda but I do think it is worth stressing that not having sex with strangers is necessary to limit the spread of monkeypox and we should not ignore this fact just because we are afraid of hurting gay people's feelings.
