The average price, prior to Covid Vaccinations opening up the economy, again was $2.25 a gallon. The right-wing extremists, who say Jan. 6 was an "Antifa-FBI riot," blamed Biden as a pipeline hack, a hurricane, war in Ukraine, OPEC profit-taking and speculators drove prices up. I predict that not one right winger will give Biden a scintilla of credit for prices declining. They will most probably not get down to the "COVID-stay at home" levels of late 2020-early 2021, but 20,000 stations report $3.99 a gallon gas, today. Things are improving daily.

You're asking who gets the credit...and if the President had no control over the cost rising, he gets no credit when/if costs decline.

Hey Larry it was $2.79 when joe took office. The war is still going on. I guess you should credit putin since it was his fault. Remember?

Actually, the Automobile Club (a trusted source) put the price at $2.31 a gallon, in January 2021. Putin's war is one of the main reasons that speculators drove up the cost of crude oil, which caused gas price increases. The market has stabilized since then.

Putin is in a corner. He lost 40% of his GDP with the pull outs of foreign companies led by us. His arms cache is dwindling and he is finding it hard to recruit Russian fighters. He cannot dip deeply into the arms and troops he needs for defensive purposes and to control his population if need be. He needs to end the war now more than ever, if he is to survive politically. And his physical health is poor. He has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
