I have not read that story yet.
I've had gay friends many years. I knew gay guys in the military. One of them came to me one night, and told me he was going to kill himself because he'd had too many friends get killed. I grabbed him and held him, and let him cry it out. The whole front of my uniform became wet with his tears. He was still alive and (almost) well when I later transferred out of that unit.
I believe I can be friends with pretty much anyone, unless they're a moonbat lib. They're just too f-cking crazy and hateful. But I have no problems with gays, as long as they keep bedroom stuff in their bedrooms.
The gays I know aren't into the 'woke' bullshit at all. In fact, they're offended by it. 'Woke' simply isn't about gay rights, so that movement has no benefits for them. Instead, the 'woke' are trying to hide child molestation behind a facade of gay rights. If you're gay, you SHOULD be offended by that!
Worse still, 'woke' people want to force the details of various transgender stuff up in normal people's faces. And the vast majority of us straight people aren't homophobic at all. We simply don't want to see someone else's junk out on display.
Finally, the whole 'woke' thing is so insane and self-destructive that I both expect and hope that movement just implodes and goes away. Getting democrats out of the federal government will begin the process of returning the country to sanity.
