The irony is the masses of believers want someone else to fix it, namely gov't and pressure it would put on businesses, etc.
I actually wouldn't mind folks taking some actions, like energy conservation, seeking energy alternatives, reducing pollution in general, but Climate Change is one enviromental movement were people expect someone other than themselves to do something, to make sacrifices. Sure, some install solar and buy electric vehicles, but that's a relative minority and more a luxury as well as mainly to just impress the neighbors.
It's also become a distraction from other and real (as well as more toxic than basic air) pollution. Enviromental causes that don't center around Global Shamming are falling by the wayside. It's become a hip fad with no involvement required other than sharing Facebook posts and cute Tweets. It thrives on the hypocrisy it fosters. It's a faux cause which runs as deep as everything else in our instant facsimile social media framed society. It quite literally IS hot air, a fart in the wind of trends for lazy band wagon jumpers. Climate Change is the Indulgences of activism. Pay a tax and the carbon is shifted to someone else.
