the factually correct/widely socially accepted definition is that a furry is someone who takes an interest in anthromorphic animals, or animals with human-like qualities (for example talking or standing on two legs)

Furries **may** take part in:
-drawing furry characters
-fursuiting
-making furry related content

but non of those activities are mandatory to be a furry, just things and hobbies furries often participate in

Also, I should note, people can do those things and not define themself as a furry. And along with that, a furry can be a furry without being in/supporting the general fandom.

I mainly meant this as "the groups that win will be PART of the definition", so the definition from the poll is "Anyone who:
a) wears a fursuit
b) anyone who role-plays as a furry often, or
c) someone who wishes they were an animal."
However, I see now that it was very probable that there was 0 way this was going to be representative in the least, and so it was kind of dumb for me to make the poll.

Thanks for giving me an answer though, that's the first time I've gotten one. The closest I've gotten before this was "look on Urban Dictionary" and there's tons of definitions for it on there, many of which are conflicting.

Most of the reason for making this was to see if I was, by definition, a furry, and due to the definitions often being vague I had to come up with some and see if I met the criteria.

I will admit your research is sort of interesting, even though it doesn't help find a/the real definition it still interests me to see what other communities think we are.

I do also want to point out, a lot of furries don't even have fursuits, considering they're **incredibly** expensive and uncomfortable to wear

And that plenty of furries don't like role-playing/cosplaying (like myself) but still consider themselves furries

Plus, a lot of people wish to be an animal without themselves being furries

Also, if I were you I wouldn't use urban dictionary, it's a mild unreliable source and it isn't really worth looking there, especially for definitions on fandoms
